Renowned electronics major Panasonic jumps into the quad-core smartphone battle with the introduction of its Panasonic P51. This also marks the introduction of first Panasonic smartphone with Android OS. Panasonic P51 will not found lacking of processing power because it features MediaTek’s MT6589 SoC, that contains a quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU and PowerVR Series5XT GPU. The four cores should easily help in gaming. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Panasonic P51 features with 5 inch HD IPS display with the screen resolution of 720 x 1280 Pixels at a PPI range of 294 Pixels which sounds good enough for clear image clarity. 8 MP rear camera with auto-focus and face detection technology is another good thing in Panasonic p51. So you can now capture blur-free photos and record HD videos. 1.3 MP front facing camera is for video calling is also there. It will come with 1 GB RAM and 4 GB of internal Memory. Internal memory is extendable upto 32 GB by using microSD card. The P51 has been priced at $517 (Rs.26,900) which is I think reasonable because recently Nexus 4 is also launched in India at Rs. 25,990. Nexus 4 doesn’t have capacitive stylus and microSD card facility.
